The Foundation Ambassador Program is an outreach initiative organized
by grade levels. Ambassadors are parent volunteers who help provide
information about District funding needs and The Foundation programs
as well as generate enthusiasm for making donations to the Foundation.
Ambassadors contact parents within each grade level through organized
mail and phone appeals. Through informal interactions with District
families, Ambassadors champion the need for additional funding and
encourage donations of any amount.
Ambassadors help to put a face on the Foundation, and are the only
direct link to the Foundation for many parents. Your
work in this capacity is extremely important. In prior
years, we have learned that 75% of parents who donated to the Foundation
did so in response to the FAs' work. Thus, the 5 or so hours you
spend during the course of this Campaign will make a tremendous
positive impact on our success.
For those who are new to the FA program, here are some
basics:
-->You will be assigned to a classroom at your child's school.
In most cases, you will be the FA for a class in which your child
is a student.
--> You will communicate formally with your assigned class in
three ways: by writing a short note during the kick-off; by telephoning
them toward the end of the Campaign; and by emailing them once or
twice during the Campaign.
--> You will be provided with sample notes, prepared emails,
and telephone scripts, so there is no need to be nervous about what
to say or write.
--> You will communicate informally with your class should someone
have a question about the Foundation.
